What Is TPO Roofing?
TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) is a single-ply membrane with a bright white, reflective surface. Its seams are heat-welded together, creating a bond that is typically stronger than the sheet itself. It is the most widely installed single-ply membrane in commercial roofing today.
Why building owners choose TPO:
- Reflective white surface helps lower cooling costs
- Heat-welded seams for watertight protection
- Lightweight and cost-effective
- Resists mildew, algae and dirt buildup
- Made without plasticizers or chlorine
- Mechanically attached, fully adhered or self-adhered

Typical Brands
TPO Roofing Products
We install complete TPO systems from leading manufacturers, with matching insulation, fasteners, adhesives and flashings so every component works together.

Versico VersiWeld TPO
One of the longest-running TPO lines in the industry. VersiWeld has a thick top ply with the OctaGuard XT weathering package, plus SeamShield film that keeps seam areas clean until welding. Fleece-backed VersiFleece TPO is available for adhered and recover roofs.

GenFlex EZ TPO
EZ TPO comes in standard, fleece-back, EZ TPO Plus and Peel & Stick versions. GenFlex introduced the industry's first peel-and-stick TPO, which installs without separate bonding adhesive for a faster, cleaner job.

Flex TPO
Flex TPO comes in wide sheets for fewer seams and is available in 45, 60 and 80 mil, including fleece-back and self-adhered options. Warranties of up to 30 years are available on 80 mil systems.
TPO Roofing FAQ
How long does a TPO roof last?
A properly installed TPO roof commonly lasts 20 to 30 years, depending on membrane thickness, climate and maintenance. Thicker membranes qualify for longer manufacturer warranties.
What TPO thickness should I choose?
TPO typically comes in 45, 60 and 80 mil. Thicker membranes have more weathering material above the reinforcement and can carry longer warranties. 60 mil is a popular balance of cost and longevity, and we will help you choose based on how long you plan to own the building.
Is TPO energy efficient?
Yes. White TPO reflects much of the sun's heat, which can lower rooftop temperatures and cooling costs, and many TPO membranes carry ENERGY STAR ratings.
What is the difference between TPO and PVC?
Both are white, heat-welded single-ply membranes. TPO is a cost-effective, all-purpose choice for most buildings. PVC holds up better to grease, oils and chemicals, so it is often the better pick for restaurants and industrial buildings.
Can TPO be installed over my existing roof?
Often, yes. TPO can recover many existing low-slope roofs when the substrate is dry and code allows, and TPO retrofit systems can also be installed over existing metal roofs. We confirm conditions with an inspection first.
